On March 26, 2024, a sole ticket holder from New Jersey emerged victorious, claiming the largest jackpot in the state’s history.
This win ranks as the fifth largest in Mega Millions and the eighth largest in the annals of lottery jackpots.
The lucky Mega Millions winner now faces a choice between an annuity or a $537.5 Million one-time payout.
The recent draw also created a few millionaires, with 12 winners of the Mega Millions second prize across various states (CA, CO, FL x2, GA x2, IL, IN, MI, NY x2, OH) each winning the $1 Million prize. Additionally, a New Yorker who opted for the Megaplier feature doubled their second-tier prize to $2 Million.
